(TITC) - Viet Nam is set to accelerate tourism promotion and industry transformation with the upcoming Viet Nam International Travel Mart 2026 (VITM 2026), scheduled to take place from April 10 - 12 in Ha Noi.
Under the theme “Digital Transformation and Green Growth - Elevating Viet Nam Tourism,” VITM 2026 will be held by the Viet Nam Tourism Association (VITA) at the International Center for Exhibition (ICE) in Ha Noi, bringing together a wide range of domestic and international tourism stakeholders.
According to organizers, the fair will feature around 450 booths, with participation from tourism promotion agencies, airlines, international tourism organizations, and tourism enterprises. The event is expected to attract representatives from 15 countries and territories, along with 34 provinces and cities across Viet Nam, showcasing destinations, introducing tourism products, and seeking partnership opportunities.
VITM 2026 is expected to welcome approximately 80,000 visitors, creating a dynamic platform for tourism promotion, business networking, and market stimulation.
A key highlight of the event will be a large-scale business matching program (B2B), scheduled for April 9, exclusively for registered participants. The program is expected to bring together 350 - 400 buyers, including about 150 international travel companies from Viet Nam’s key markets and 200 Vietnamese travel firms. Participants will engage in meetings, exchange information, and explore cooperation and partnership agreements.
In parallel, the fair will host a range of business-to-business (B2B) and business-to-consumer (B2C) activities, aimed at promoting destinations and stimulating travel demand.
The event will also feature conferences and thematic seminars focusing on key industry trends, including digital transformation, green tourism development, and the application of technology in tourism management and business operations. Notable events include tourism promotion programs for Gia Lai and Lai Chau provinces, a joint promotion conference for Ninh Binh, Hung Yen, and Ca Mau, as well as a presentation on Ho Chi Minh City’s 2026 tourism event calendar.
Speaking at the press conference, Viet Nam National Authority of Tourism’s Vice Chairwoman Nguyen Thi Hoa Mai underscored the relevance of VITM 2026’s theme, noting that green growth and sustainable development are global trends shaping the future of tourism.
She highlighted that Viet Nam’s tourism sector has received strong support from the Government through favorable policies in recent years. In 2026, the country aims to welcome 25 million international visitors - a target that presents both significant opportunities and challenges.
The Vice Chairwoman emphasized the important role of local authorities and businesses, alongside the strategic guidance of government agencies, in driving tourism development. She reaffirmed VNAT’s commitment to supporting stakeholders in promotion and marketing efforts, facilitating partnerships, and enhancing the competitiveness of Viet Nam’s tourism on the global stage.
Through VITM, she expressed hope that Viet Nam’s tourism image will be further promoted internationally, while future editions of the fair will continue to attract more businesses and international partners, contributing to the sector’s sustained growth.
