Attending the conference were Mr. Le Khac Nam, Vice Chairman of Hai Phong City People’s Committee; Mr. Ha Van Sieu, Vice Chairman of Vietnam National Authority of Tourism (VNAT); leaders, representatives of central and local departments, branches, associations and press and television reporters.

According to the Organising Board, the Championship will take place in 4 days (from 8th to 11th August 2023) at Vinpearl Golf Hai Phong (Vu Yen Island, Hai An District, Hai Phong City) with the participation of the excellent golfers in Vietnam.

In order to increase competition and attractiveness, the National Golf Championship - VinFast Cup 2023 has a prize fund of up to VND 1.2 billion. Within the framework of the tournament, there will be a number of meaningful events such as offering incense at the Special National Monument - Temple of Trang Trinh Nguyen Binh Khiem: Proud of roots, radiant future; the organisation of the Hai Phong Golf Open Pro-Am in 2023.

Additionally, with the desire to promote and develop tourism, including golf tourism, and high-quality real estate projects to domestic and international tourists, Hai Phong City and Tien Phong Newspaper will co-organize a golf tourism seminar with the theme "Hai Phong - Golf tourism destination" and a real estate seminar "Realising Hai Phong planning: An urban real estate boom".

Mr. Le Khac Nam, Vice Chairman of Hai Phong City People’s Committee said, the Championship is an important event for the city. Current estimates in Hai Phong,  there are about 2,000 golfers and has 4 golf courses for competition. In the future, Hai Phong will have 7 golf courses.

The Championship is an opportunity to promote tourism. With tourism associated with golf and food tours in recent years, the number of people from provinces and cities to experience in Hai Phong is increasing. In Hai Phong, visitors will be accompanied to playgolf and enjoy the unique cuisine of Hai Phong, stated Mr. Nam.

First held in 2005, the National Golf Championship is the oldest golf tournament in Vietnam, the event that laid the foundation for the birth of the national golf competition system of the Vietnam Golf Association (VGA). Over the years, the National Golf Championship has always been an event leading the movement and accompanying the development of Vietnamese golf.
