(TITC) - On the occasion of the state visit to Vietnam by Korean President Yoon Suk Yeol, on 23rd June, in Ha Noi, Mr. Nguyen Van Hung, Minister of the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism (MOCST) had a reception with Mr. Park Bo Gyoon - Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Korea.
Attending the reception were leaders of Vietnam National Administration of Tourism (VNAT), Departments and units under MOCST.

MOCST’s Minister Nguyen Van Hung stated, Vietnam and Korea have achieved many good cooperation results in the fields of culture, sports and tourism, in which, the two sides have coordinated to organise many activities such as art shows and festivals, film week, exhibitions introducing the country and people…
In December 2022, the two ministries signed a memorandum of understanding on cultural cooperation for the period of 2023-2025. The MoU was signed on the occasion of 30 years of establishing diplomatic relations between Vietnam and Korea, the MoU is a solid basis to continue promoting cooperation in the cultural field.

The two ministries also organised many delegation exchange events, organised a special cultural week, including 4 remarkable activities: Korean Culture Day in Hoi An, Quang Nam; Vietnam Tourism - Culture Festival in Korea; 39th International Music Festival; cooperation in promoting sports between the Olympic Committee of Vietnam and the Olympic Committee of Korea.

To strengthen the comprehensive strategic cooperation relationship of the two countries, MOCST’s Minister Nguyen Van Hung suggested that the both sides should strengthen cooperation activities in the fields of culture, sports and tourism, thereby further improving the quality of signed activities. Depending on the cooperation theme of each year, choose activities as the highlight to further enhance the cooperation relationship. Currently, there are 87,000 Vietnamese-Korean families living in Korea. They are messengers to connect and promote the culture of the two countries. Therefore, it is necessary to organise The typical Vietnamese - Korean cultural family festival, to honour and promote the cultures of the two countries via media. Korea is also a country with a modern and advanced film, culture and art industry. MOCST’s Minister Nguyen Van Hung hopes that Korea will support Vietnam in the fields of film and culture and arts. Above all, with the huge passion wave of Korean culture, music and cinema of Vietnamese people, especially the young ones, it is a good idea to form a Vietnamese - Korean band, appearing in campaigns to promote Vietnamese - Korean cultures.

Cooperation in the field of culture will lay a solid foundation for the diplomatic relations between the two countries, said Mr. Park Bo Gyoon - Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Korea.
Regarding the field of music, arts and sports, Mr. Park Bo Gyoon marks as the fields that Korea has experience in developing, so in the coming time, Korea will strengthen its support to Vietnam in terms of human resources, experts, and modern equipment so that actors, artists, and athletes of Vietnam can access and practice to improve their expertise.

Korea will actively promote activities to popularise Korean to Vietnamese young people, coordinate with the Korean Ministry of Education to implement visas exclusively for international exchange students or students related to majors in culture and art, thereby creating favourable conditions for Vietnamese international students to study and practice in Korea, added Mr. Park Bo Gyoon.
