MOCST’s Minister Nguyen Van Hung emphasised, Vietnam and China are two neighbouring countries, having similarities in culture and politics, the good and close friendship between the peoples of the two countries. Culture and tourism activities between the two ministries have also facilitated interaction and promoted the development of tourism between the two countries.

MOCST’s Minister Nguyen Van Hung highly appreciated the advice of the Ministry of Culture and Tourism of China as the Chinese Government creating favourable conditions for Chinese tourists to Vietnam. Till now, the number of Chinese visitor arrivals is ranked 2nd in the tourist source markets of Vietnam. In the first 5 months of 2023, Vietnam welcomed nearly 400,000 Chinese visitor arrivals, and China also welcomed the number of Vietnamese visitors to China with a similar number.

In the provinces that share a border, departments of Culture, Sports and Tourism strengthen cultural and artistic exchanges and activities to help the people of the two countries understand deeply about the cultures, tighten the relationship of solidarity, cooperation and friendship; thereby, well implement the goals and tasks contributing to socio-economic development.

Minister Nguyen Van Hung further suggested to Vice Minister of Culture and Tourism of China Rao Quan to discuss with the competent authorities of China to continue to create the most favourable conditions, help increase the number of tourists to Vietnam. At the same time, to remove and promote better air connections to gain more two-way passengers.

Vietnam will pay attention to innovative tourism products, especially approaching the demands and tastes of Chinese tourists to gradually satisfy visitors to Vietnam.

The recent visit of General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong to China has reached a common understanding, promoting the strategic cooperation relationship between the two sides to new heights, including in the fields of culture and tourism. Recently, MOCST’s Deputy Minister Doan Van Viet paid a working visit in Shenzhen and Beijing, held talks with the Vice Minister of Culture and Tourism of China to promote cultural exchange and cooperation between the two countries, in which the main point is to promote cooperation in the cultural industry.

In the upcoming time, both sides will continue the implementation of Vietnam - China Culture and Tourism Cooperation Plan for the period of 2023 - 2027; the MoU on cooperation in the field of cultural industry between the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Vietnam and the Ministry of Culture and Tourism of China.

Regarding the field of tourism, the two ministries continue to effectively implement the signed tourism cooperation agreements; encourage citizens of the two countries to travel to each other; strengthen the management of tourism service quality at the destinations of each party in order to meet the demands of tourists travelling to each other; strengthen the improvement of tourism infrastructure, develop tourism products suitable to the tastes of tourists of each side; mutual assistance in organising tourism promotion activities in each country.
