(TITC) - The monitoring travel trends tool Google Destination Insights recently shows the demand growth for searching Vietnam tourism information (international and domestic) from March to June 2023 is increasing in the range of 10%-25%, at the world's 7th growth.
Thereby, the top demand growth countries are Turkey, Greece, Croatia, India, Italia, Spain, Vietnam, United States, Japan, and United Kingdom.
Vietnam is the only country that comes from Southeast Asia in the group. The remaining countries ranked lower: Thailand (15), Indonesia (16), Malaysia (18), Philippines (20), and Singapore (26).

The top demand by origin country for Vietnam tourism are the US, Japan, Australia, India, Korea, Singapore, UK, Malaysia, Germany, France. These are all key markets of Vietnam tourism representing North America, Northeast Asia, Western Europe, and Southeast Asia. India and Australia are two big markets with strong growth potential because airlines have recently restored and expanded flight routes connecting cities of Vietnam and these two countries.

The cities and regions of Vietnam that receive the most demand are Ho Chi Minh City, Ha Noi, Da Nang, Phu Quoc, Nha Trang, and Hoi An. Besides, there are cities and regions with high trends of demand such as: Quy Nhon (over 75%), Hai Phong (over 75%), Vung Tau (25% to 50%), Ha Long (25% to 50%), Nha Trang (10% to 25%), Can Tho (10% to 25%).
The number of search volumes about Vietnam tourism at this time has increased 3-4 times compared to the same period in 2022 - the time when the country just restored tourism. This shows a strong recovery in Vietnam travel demand.
In first 5 months of 2023, the number of international visitors to Vietnam reached 4.6 million arrivals (equivalent to 57.5% of the year plan). The number of domestic visitors reached 50.5 million arrivals (equivalent to 50% of the year plan). With good growth momentum and favourable policies in the coming time, the tourism industry is predicted to meet and exceed the target of reserving visitors this year.
The entire tourism industry has focused on implementing solutions for recovery and development through a series of national and international promotion activities, strengthening international cooperation, product development, service quality improvement, promoting technology application and digital transformation, etc. to meet mission requirements in the new situation.
In a short period of time, the Prime Minister has chaired two important conferences, namely the Conference on Promoting International Tourist Attraction to Vietnam (December 2022) and the National Conference on Tourism (March 2023). On 18th May 2023, the Government issued Resolution 82/NQ-CP on the main tasks and solutions to accelerate the recovery and the effective and sustainable tourism development. In the 5th session of the 15th National Assembly, it is also considering the content of the draft Law amending and supplementing a number of articles of the Law on exit and entry of Vietnamese citizens and Law on entry, exit, transit and residence of foreigners in Vietnam. In which including new content on visa and immigration policies that are expected to create a breakthrough to attract international tourists to Vietnam in the coming time.
