MOCST’s Deputy Minister Ta Quang Dong said, the Vietnam - Chile culture, sports and tourism cooperation relationship has always been cultivated and promoted through cultural exchanges and people-to-people diplomacy. In which, MOCST has built and inaugurated the statue of President Ho Chi Minh in Cerro Navia City in September 2013 and in Santiago, Chile in July 2014. The Chilean Embassy also made and inaugurated a Chilean ceramic painting on the Ceramic Road on the Red River dyke (Ha Noi, Vietnam) in September 2017. Every year, the Embassy of Chile and other Latin American embassies in Vietnam organise the Latin American Film Festival in Vietnam. Regarding the tourism sector, the two countries signed a Framework Agreement on tourism cooperation between Vietnam and Chile in January 2006.

On the basis of good relations, with achieved results, the two countries can promote cooperation in culture, sports and tourism, elevating the relationship in the near future, . The Deputy Minister Ta Quang Dong believes that, with the experience gained, during his terms, Ambassador Sergio Narea Guzman will have many solutions to help tighten this cooperation relationship. Specifically, Mr. Ta Quang Dong hopes the two sides strengthen the exchange of delegations at all levels; signing cooperation documents; endeavouring to maintain and promote cooperative activities in the cultural field such as performing arts, cinema, fine arts, photography and exhibitions; maintaining annual cultural cooperation activities; promoting exchange and cooperation at international organisations and multilateral forums such as the World Tourism Organization (UNWTO), the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO)...

Regarding the sports sector, Vietnam - Chile consider sending athletes to attend international congresses and sports events held in each country.

Regarding the tourism sector, the two countries need to strengthen information exchange and update information on the tourism industry; organise exchange of delegations to share experiences in tourism development, create conditions for businesses to seize cooperation opportunities, and introduce Vietnam - Chile tourism to the people of the two countries.

Ambassador Sergio Narea Guzman affirmed that in the coming time, efforts will be made to promote contact at all levels, aiming to sign more cooperation documents and implement many specific solutions to develop a strong and sustainable culture, sports and tourism cooperation relationship between Vietnam and Chile.

Vietnam and Chile will seize more opportunities to cooperate in the fields of culture, sports and tourism. In order to further strengthen cooperation, the Ambassador of Chile wished that during the visits of senior leaders between the two countries, especially on the anniversaries of establishing diplomatic relations between Vietnam and Chile, the Embassy and MOCST will organise cultural events such as film screenings, photo exhibitions, art performances…

Chilean Ambassador to Vietnam Sergio Narea Guzman later on shows his impression of the achievements that Vietnamese football and sports have achieved in regional and international arenas. The Ambassador agreed that this is the foundation and favourable opportunity for cooperation in sports as football is  one of the sports in which Chile has strengths.
