(TITC) - On 6th June 2023, in Ha Noi, the Korea Tourism Organisation (KTO) in Vietnam organised the Korea MICE Roadshow. Mr. Ha Van Sieu, Vice Chairman of Vietnam National Administration of Tourism (VNAT) attended and spoke at the event.

Korea MICE Roadshow is an annual event organised by KTO Vietnam to connect businesses in the tourism industry between Vietnam and Korea, introduce MICE tourism as well as support policies from the Korea MICE Bureau.

Speaking at the Roadshow, Mr. Lee Jae Hoon, KTO’s Chief representative in Vietnam affirmed that Vietnam is a significant market not only for tourism in general but also for the MICE sector in particular. This is also the second event about Korean MICE tourism in Vietnam held post the Covid-19 pandemic, marking an important meaning for the tourism industry of both countries.
Since the establishment of diplomatic relations, Korea - Vietnam has promoted development cooperation in the fields of economy, culture, tourism… and achieved many promising results. Before the Covid-19 pandemic, the exchange activities and visitor exchanges between the two countries took place actively, being major partners of each other.
Mr. Lee Jae Hoon hopes that the Korea MICE Roadshow 2023 will be the occasion for KTO in Vietnam to connect Vietnam - Korea travel agencies in the most effective way, besides introducing Korean tourism in general and MICE tourism in particular. He also affirmed, in the Korean tourism year 2023 - 2024, KTO Vietnam will actively promote Korean tourism promotion activities in Vietnam.

At the event, VNAT’s Vice Chairman Ha Van Sieu indicated the Roadshow is a great contribution to promote the cooperation in developing tourism in Vietnam and Korea in general, MICE tourism between the two countries in particular, as well as further tightening the comprehensive strategic partnership between Vietnam and Korea.
In the past few years, the partnership between Vietnam and Korea has always been interested in promoting and achieving many achievements. Regarding the tourism sector, in December 2022, VNAT and KTO signed a Memorandum of Understanding on cooperation in tourism promotion between Vietnam and Korea for the period of 2023 - 2024, creating a basis for the two sides to promote tourism cooperation and exchange visitors, especially post the pandemic, when tourism needs to be restored quickly and effectively.

According to VNAT’s Vice Chairman Ha Van Sieu, the Korea MICE Roadshow 2023 is a practical opportunity for travel businesses of the two countries to connect, update and share information, promote the potential of MICE tourism, and discuss cooperation and two-way exchange of visitors; at the same time create favourable conditions and policies for tourism; to further develop the comprehensive strategic partnership between Vietnam and Korea.
