Traveloka expects to cooperate with VNAT to promote Vietnam tourism

(TITC) - On 11th May 2023, in Ha Noi, Mr. Nguyen Trung Khanh, Chairman of Vietnam National Administration of Tourism (VNAT) had a meeting with Ms. Widyasari Listyowulan, Vice President for Public Policy and Government Affairs of Traveloka, on promoting Vietnam tourism on digital platforms.

Ms. Widyasari Listyowulan said, Vietnam is one of the leading potential markets of Traveloka. After the Covid-19 pandemic was completely controlled, the travel habits of international tourists have completely changed, especially young tourists. Instead of going on long-day trips, they tend to get short-stays, in nearby locations. Vietnam is now one of the rising stars in the world’s tourism map, and is a favourite destination in Southeast Asia for international tourists. According to a survey carried by Traveloka, Sa Pa (Northwest Vietnam) is a place favoured by tourists from Thailand, Singapore, Malaysia and Indonesia.

At the meeting, Traveloka’s Vice President Widyasari Listyowulan shared a number of upcoming plans that will be implemented in Vietnam, such as organising seminars on introduction and training on sustainable tourism development; cooperate with RMIT University in Ho Chi Minh City on raising awareness about the importance of sustainable tourism development; Participating in international travel fairs… Traveloka hopes to strengthen the cooperation and accompany VNAT in promoting Vietnam tourism, especially promotional activities on digital platforms.

VNAT’s Chairman Nguyen Trung Khanh highly appreciates cooperation activities between Vietnam tourism and Traveloka over the past time. Last November, 2022, the two sides successfully organised the Seminar "Strengthening cooperation in the digital environment, improving the visitors’ experience" in Ha Noi. In 2022, Traveloka has also assisted in designing tourism publications for Da Nang and Hai Phong. Currently, Traveloka is continuing to support the design of promotional publications for two localities, Binh Thuan and Quang Ninh.

In 2023, VNAT will cooperate with a number of international organisations and associations to organise seminars and conferences in some localities, such as coordinating with the World Tourism Organization (UNWTO) to organise a training course on destination management in Ninh Binh. Then, jointly with the ASEAN-Japan Center to organise a conference on sustainable tourism development in Sa Pa. VNAT’s Chairman Nguyen Trung Khanh hopes that Traveloka will be a companion and implement many activities to promote Vietnam tourism with VNAT.

VNAT’s Chairman Nguyen Trung Khanh further suggested Traveloka to continue supporting Vietnamese localities in building publicity and promotion publications; promote Vietnam's tourism image on Traveloka's platform. Also, strengthen cooperation in the field of digital transformation, improve the effectiveness of advertising on online platforms of the tourism industry. VNAT’s Chairman Nguyen Trung Khanh emphasised the importance of organising seminars, intensive training courses on digital transformation, promotion, service quality improvement, destination management… VNAT always welcomes the support from Traveloka in organising programmes to introduce Vietnam Tourism in key foreign markets, especially in Southeast Asia and Indonesia.
