(TITC) - On 4th May 2023, in Ha Noi, Mr. Nguyen Le Phuc, Vice Chairman of Vietnam National Administration of Tourism (VNAT) had a meeting with SQV International Group on a number of proposals for technology application in tourism activities. Attending the meeting were leaders and staff of the Tourism Information Technology Center (TITC) and International Cooperation Department (under VNAT).

According to Professor Cheah Kok Hoong- Chairman of SQV International, this is the perfect time for Vietnam to foster digital transformation to recover the tourism industry and welcome the return of international visitors. At the same time, he expressed his eagerness to cooperate and accompany the programmes of VNAT in the renovation of technology application in the development of Vietnam's tourism industry and integration with the world.

At the meeting, Mr. Dato’ Seri Ivan Teh - CEO of Fusionex - a long-time partner of SQV International, introduced a number of smart technology solutions such as developing a digital platform to support product endorsement, travel services, big data analysis of characteristics, behaviour of tourists, digital tools to provide information to tourists…
Vietnam not only possesses rich natural and cultural resources, tourism products are notable with a developed system of technical infrastructure, hotels and resorts. By applying smart technology to boost the efficiency of tourism operation and management, analyse in detail source markets to develop suitable products for each customer segment, increase the experience for visitors to Vietnam.

Highly appreciative of the suggestions of SQV International for digital transformation application in tourism, VNAT’s Vice Chairman Nguyen Le Phuc said, the recovery and development of tourism post Covid-19 is a core mission of Vietnam’s tourism industry. One of the solutions to strongly promote tourism recovery is digital transformation, building a smart tourism ecosystem in line with new trends.

VNAT’s Vice Chairman Nguyen Le Phuc emphasised, a smart tourism ecosystem will effectively connect tourists with tourism service providers. With just a smartphone, visitors can use travel services in the fastest and most convenient way. These are also the solutions that VNAT is attentive to form a synchronous smart tourism ecosystem in Vietnam.
