Since its establishment in 2019, the Vietnam Tourism Promoting Office in Korea has put every effort to be a representative to introduce Vietnam's diverse tourism products, so that Vietnam is always known as a safe and exciting tourist destination, where many interesting things and beautiful landscapes to explore, a place to attract visitors to keep returning at any time. At the same time, the Office has actively promoted and supported Vietnam to become a friendly country, closer to Korean visitors' hearts.

As a Vietnam tourism ambassador in Korea, Mr. Lee Chang Kun started, together with the Vietnam Tourism Promoting Office, to work closely with relevant agencies of Vietnam and Korea, strongly and widely implementing projects and plans to promote Vietnam tourism in Korea post the pandemic.

The Office has cooperated with Korean government agencies, local authorities; television stations, publishers and media agencies to carry out activities to promote Vietnam's tourism image in Korea such as: supporting major Korean TV stations MBC, MBN, SBS to record videos at famous tourist destinations of Vietnam such as Da Lat, Nha Trang, Mui Ne, Hai Phong; Presenting videos promoting Vietnamese culture and tourism at Daegu International Airport, Korea;...

The Office is currently an advisor to the Korean provincial and city councils on projects to promote exchanges and cooperation between Vietnamese and Korean local agencies, and to promote medium and long-term economic-educational cooperation projects between the two countries, culture and tourism cooperation, etc. Additionally, the Office has supported cultural exchange activities, promotion of tourism and investment in Vietnam, including attending and holding talkshow with leaders, organisations and individuals in many fields of Vietnam.

Regarding the culture field, the Office cooperated with National Theatre, National Symphony Orchestra on set from 2022 to hold an event with the concept of culture and tourism in Vietnam last March. The event welcomed more than a thousand audiences, filled the whole theatre and more than 80 participants in Korea's national symphony orchestra, along with videos of tourist attractions in Vietnam.

Talking about the promotion plan for Vietnam tourism, activities to be taken place include promoting cooperation with Napas in encouraging electronic payments to promote tourism in Vietnam and Korea; cooperating with Khanh Hoa Provincial People's Committee to promote economic, cultural and tourism exchanges. Simultaneously, continue to coordinate with Korean local authorities and media agencies, relevant organisations and agencies… to implement a multidimensional tourism promotion plan with the goal of presenting to the Korean people an image of an interesting, safe and convenient Vietnam, sticking to the slogan "Live fully in Vietnam".

Regarding the field of tourism, in 2019, before the outbreak of pandemic, Korea was the second largest tourist source market to Vietnam. On the other hand, Korea is a favourite destination of Vietnamese people. In the first four months of 2023, Vietnam welcomed about 3.7 million international visitor arrivals, in which, Korean visitors accounted for 1 million, which is currently Vietnam's largest tourist market.

VNAT’s Chairman Nguyen Trung Khanh highly appreciated for every effort that has been made by Vietnam tourism ambassador in Korea Lee Chang Kun and the Vietnam Tourism Promoting Office in the successful implementation of promotional activities, promoting Vietnam tourism in Korea in the past time, contributing to the restoration of visitor exchange activities between the two sides.

VNAT’s Chairman Nguyen Trung Khanh hopes that the Office will continue to uphold the responsibility and associate with localities, tourism businesses in Vietnam to carry market research, promote communication, and organise large-scale Vietnam tourism introduction activities.
