Thereby, the Đó Theatre is a new highlight of Khanh Hoa culture and tourism. The event took place on the occasion of the 370th anniversary of construction and development of Khanh Hoa Province.

Inspired by the “đó” - a popular Vietnamese folk fishing gear used to catch shrimp and fish, the Đó Theatre was designed and built on the shores of Bai Tien beach in the luxury complex of Vega City Nha Trang. The architect is uniquely evaluated in terms of ideas, materials and quality with dozens of leading domestic and foreign consulting and construction units participating in the implementation.

This theatre meets strict standards of world-class art performance. The entire mechanical system, stage technique, sound and light of the construction are imported directly from Europe, aiming to be the venue for high-quality performing arts activities.

The theatre has an area of 2,500 m2, with a capacity of 536 seats. The programme "Life Puppets" is scheduled to perform daily at the theatre. "Life Puppets" tells the story of 12 animals typical of Eastern culture, using folk materials and approaching the language of contemporary art.

At the Inauguration Ceremony, taking place also the Announcement ceremony of cooperation agreement to coordinate the annual organisation of the Kite Awards in Nha Trang. The Đó theatre also receives two awards from the Vietnam Records Association, including: The theatre has a unique indigenous cultural architecture with design inspiration from the largest “đó” in Vietnam; And the second one is for Life Puppets show - A special art programme with the combination of many puppetry art forms, multi-space performance with the first Southeast Asian ethnic orchestra in Vietnam.

Mr. Nguyen Tan Tuan, Chairman of Khanh Hoa Provincial People’s Committee, indicated, the province holds a great hope to turn Đó theatre into an economic - tourism development model based on cultural values, bringing differences and uniqueness to the local tourist destination.

Giving his remarks at the ceremony, H.E. Mr. Pham Minh Chinh, Prime Minister of Vietnam said, developing tourism into a spearhead economic sector is one of the main missions. In particular, to build and develop Khanh Hoa Province, including tourism development. The development of the tourism industry is closely linked with the development of culture.

Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh highly appreciated the investors' interest and financial resources to invest in building Đó theatre, creating a unique tourist destination and space for art activities in Khanh Hoa.

The investor continues to research and perfect the operating model of the Đó theatre, building high-quality performing arts programmes, further promoting the precious and rich values of local and national culture.
